Dr. Har Kaur, the librarian at Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32, has been honored with the Dr. Kautilya Shukla Award for the ‘best paper’ at a conference hosted by IIHMR University in Jaipur on April 21. The recognition was bestowed upon her for her research titled ‘Mapping of Medical Research of India.’
As the inaugural recipient of this award from Tricity, Dr. Har Kaur boasts a portfolio of 30 national and international publications. The award was presented by esteemed individuals including Dr. R. L. Raina, the vice-chancellor of GMCH, Dr. D. V. Singh, chief librarian of Delhi University, Dr. P. K. Gupta, former director of Rajasthan University, and P. R. Meena, president of the Federation of Health Science Library Association India.
Dr. Har Kaur’s awarded research focuses on the lack of comprehensive studies in the field of medical research. Her work involves compiling data from the top 10 medical institutions in India over a decade, considering their contribution, ranking, and quality. She emphasizes the importance of conducting meaningful research to address various illnesses and notes the current trend of researchers focusing on quantity over quality.
